Vipava and Kras junij 2022

We gathered on the square in Vipava. A short walk to the main springs of the Vipava River; Podfarovža and Podskale, exterior tour of Lantieri's manor, Continuation of the tour with a drive through Vrhpolje and Cola na Gora. The mountain is a slope of the Trnov plateau that stretches over the Vipava Valley. A panoramic drive to Sinje Vrh, which conjured up wonderful panoramic views extending to the Gulf of Trieste and the Adriatic Sea.
This was followed by a drive to Predmeje and a descent along the picturesque road past Lokavac towards the lower part of the Vipava Valley. View of the Vipava Cross. A medieval settlement with the remains of Attems Castle, in recent years it has become one of the main tourist attractions of the Vipava Valley.
We continued towards the southern part of the valley, which is slowly bordering the Karst plateau. We drove past the Rihmberk castle and along the Branica river valley, and through the hills of Vipava, to the Karst, past Štanjelo to Gorjansko to Podrožce, where we took part in a golež cooking competition, which is organized by RC Nova Gorica in cooperation with RC Gorica (I) and RC Tržič-Gradež (I). The IFMR members present also donated funds for a good cause to RC Nova Gorica.
